I believe screenwriting is a craft that can be taught.  But in order to learn it, you have to understand the unique language of cinema. 

 

My courses teach you to be a visual storyteller whose stories reflect our deepest needs and fears, and whose characters resonate with our own experience of the world.  No matter what your genre, you have to offer your audience a visceral and stunning experience.

In 2008 I presented my 'Maverick Screenwriting' seminar in association with Raindance for the first time.  If you want to break out of the box; if you want to write movies that don't require big budgets, big stars, and which get you noticed - this is the course for you.  Watch out for this seminar taught in the UK and internationally in 2009.

How brilliant your Maverick Screenwriting course was.  I've done a few now, and they've been interesting, but didn't really hit the nail on the head.  Yours really hit the nail on the head.

 

I can hardly recall a moment when I've been learning like this and enjoying it so much at the same time (maybe ice skating when I was 4).

 

I really enjoyed the course and I'm looking at films - I know this is going to sound cheesy, but I'm saying it anyway - as if for the first time.

 

What I have learned has crystalized and clarified so many aspects of storycraft and given me the confidence that I do 'get it'' and can 'do it' and 'will succeed' as long as I just keep at it.
